I am a bi-cultural and bilingual therapist, and enjoy working with people of all backgrounds and ethnicities.
I am experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I provide treatment for a variety of issues, including: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and trauma. Through the use of evidence-based interventions including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and play therapy techniques I help clients identify their triggers, and learn healthier ways to manage their emotions and deal with life stressors.
I believe in focusing on the unique strengths that each individual possesses and how those strengths can help them in overcoming their challenges. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is a top factor in the success of treatment and strive to create a safe and understanding therapeutic environment.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my partner and two young children.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I am licensed in DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
I received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology in 2006 from George Mason University, and a Masters in Social Work in 2010 from Virginia Commonwealth University.
I have over ten years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in various clinical settings, including: community mental health, home based therapy, and private practice. I believe my diverse work experiences have provided me with perspective, empathy and tools to help people from many backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances.
