I am a first generation, bilingual, LatinX therapist, and enjoy working with people of all backgrounds and ethnicities.
I believe in focusing on the unique strengths that each individual possesses and how those strengths can help them in overcoming their challenges. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is an important factor in the success of therapy, and strive to create a emotionally safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
I have undergone training in various evidence based interventions including, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused Cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Emotional Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Play Therapy/Expressive treatment modalities.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I am licensed in DC and Virginia.
I received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology in 2006 from George Mason University, and a Masters in Social Work in 2010 from Virginia Commonwealth University.
I have over ten years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in various clinical settings, including: community mental health, home based therapy, and private practice. I believe my diverse work experiences have armed me with perspective and tools to help people from many backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances.
